| Just how good is it? Well, this is the best Gray Whales season opener in 30 years! For the first 30 days of 2014, we saw 177 gray whales compared to 97 in 2013. That is off the charts!
Besides all the Amazing Gray Whales – a famous Pod of Orcas showed up this week.

It’s Back! The original Wyland Weekly Art Lesson starts Jan. 24
Wyland’s Art lesson in the Wild Adventure in Dana Point
January 24 – April 25: Running every Saturday 9am- 12noon
Kids (3-12) receive an art lesson presented by Wyland, via video feed, then continue the adventure with a two-hour whale watching trip on Dana Wharf’s flagship 95 ft. vessel, the Dana Pride for $5.
All childrens artwork will be entered into a contest to win prizes, including a Wyland original art work. All for the kids and only a $5 donation; all participants also receive a poster from Wyland’s art studio (valued at $20), and accompanying adults get free coffee. For those over 12, the two-hour whale watching adventure is $45, and $35 for military and seniors (55 and over) (kids price is normally $25).
