Ortega Bridge
Update: Major Demolition Ahead

As you know, significant construction is taking place on the Ortega Highway bridge over the I-5 freeway. The construction will now enter a very disruptive phase: crews will demolish the south half of the bridge next week. Lanes will be reduced to two lanes in each direction. This configuration is scheduled to last for approximately one year as crews work to demolish and reconstruct the south half of the bridge. The new lane configurations may have an impact on alternative routes as well. Please consider leaving home earlier so that your children can arrive at school on time. More information on the demolition as well as lists of street and freeway closures, can be found atortega.dot.ca.gov.
