Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds our DJAMS’ families in good spirits. Our students, led by our PAL class, have done a tremendous job this holiday season supporting our community and those who are less fortunate.
In November our school collected over 1,171 pounds of food over the Thanksgiving holiday for families in need. We were once again recognized by South County Outreach as being very generous for this cause. In December, we teamed up with the United States Marine Corps for our Annual Toys for Tots Drive. Thank you to everyone who participated in both of these efforts. Great job PAL and Ms. Berndt!
I would like to wish everyone a restful and safe winter break and a Happy New Year. Please remember that students return to school on Monday, January 4, 2010.
EIGHTH GRADE ADS
Over winter break get your ad for your eighth grade son/daughter together. The ads are due on Friday, January 15. The order forms are on Edline or you can email Stacey Olson at seolson@capousd.org. Don’t miss this opportunity to congratulate your child on his/her efforts in middle school.
RECYCLE WEDNESDAYS
Thank you to those who donated plastic and aluminum in our first recycle Wednesday! The more recyclables we receive, the more money DJAMS will have to fund student activities and events. Wednesday, January 6, is our next recycle day. Thanks for your help!
TALENT SHOW
Does your child enjoy performing? Then the DJAMS Talent Show may be for him or her! Try-outs will be held after break on January 13 and 14. The theme is Decades, so look for hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, or today. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Berndt or Mrs. Olson.
LOST AND FOUND ITEMS
If your child has lost any item at school, please have him/her check the library lost and found before winter break. Those items not picked up by Friday will be donated to charity.
