On March 2nd, the Orange County Board of Supervisors approved a Dog License Amnesty program to offer pet owners a break from being collared with late and back fees for unlicensed dogs.
During April 1st to May 15th, owners will be able to renew their expired licenses or obtain new licenses with no worry of extra charges.
OC Animal Care staff will be hosting a dog licensing event in the City of Cypress on the following date:
Dog Licensing Event
Friday, April 23, 2010
Cypress Community Center
5700 Orange Avenue
Cypress, CA 90630
9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
And
Cypress Senior Center
9031 Grindlay Street
Cypress, CA 90630
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
City staff will also be on site to distribute information and used oil containers for recycling used motor oil.
OC Animal Care urges dog owners to take advantage of this special opportunity if a license is past due or had never been purchased. Licenses can also be purchased in-person at OC Animal Care, by mail to Attn: Licensing, 561 The City Drive South, Orange, CA 92868 or online at www.ocpetinfo.com.
A current rabies vaccination is required to license a pet. If a pet is spayed or neutered, owners will receive a discount on the license fee with proof of sterility. If an owner wants to take advantage of this special discount, but they do not have an altered pet, OC Animal Care will allow them to pay the discounted rate during the amnesty period.
These owners will then be required to submit proof of sterility within two weeks of licensing. For more information regarding this program, please contact OC Animal Care at (714) 935-6848.
