USA diving history will be made in Mission Viejo on Saturday, September 24, 2016 as the world-renowned Nadadores diving program bids farewell to the historic diving platform at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex. Greg Louganis, the most decorated diver in US history, a former Nadadore and Olympic gold medalist, will take the “Last Dive” from the iconic tower from which he trained with legendary coaches Ron O’Brien and Sammy Lee.
Greg will be joined by Great Britain diving Olympian Tom Daley for synchronized platform diving. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime event the entire family will enjoy.
The event comes just before construction begins on the decades-old Marguerite Aquatics Complex. The renovation will make the complex Southern California’s only facility with the ability to host synchronized diving events. The next chapter in Mission Viejo Nadadores diving will begin with the unveiling of the new Gilliland Diving Tower sometime in 2018.
Mission Viejo Nadadores Dive team and the City of Mission Viejo are teaming up to host an exclusive VIP event with priority seating. General admission tickets to the show will also be available. The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, September 24 at 27474 Casta Del Sol.
