Driving Tips For Back-To-School Season

Date:

City of Aliso Viejo

With many Aliso Viejo schools back in session on August 20, Police Services will be stepping up patrols around schools and is reminding drivers to slow down and follow the rules of the road.

Motorists can prepare for the back-to-school driving season and help reduce the dangers to students by following a few simple safety tips in and around school zones.

* Stay alert and avoid distracted driving.

* Obey school zone speed limits and follow your school’s drop-off procedure.

* Make eye contact with children who are crossing the street.

* Never pass a bus loading or unloading children.

For Aliso Niguel High School, avoid peak arrival and dismissal periods and consider using the loading zones at the intersection of Aliso Creek Road & Wolverine Way.
