Mission Viejo, Saddleback Valley Elks Ladies Club Luau fundraiser…a fun night for everyone.
Elks members and guests in bright Hawaiian dress arrived to find the Elks Lodge ballroom beautifully decorated with island ceiling fans and table centerpieces consisting of brightly decorated parasols, colorful lei’s and seashells, all creating the feeling of a true Hawaiian experience.
The Luau dinner was provided by Marc Ner of the Da Lu’au Hawaiian Grill in Irvine, who graciously made a generous donation of food to the charity event.
The Torrance based Manea Dancers, performed for the sold out gathering of very appreciative Elk and Ladies club members. The entertainment troop of beautifully costumed Hawaiian dancers transported the guests to the tropical islands of Hawaii with their expressive songs and dances.
A handful of willing guests had the entire audience laughing in their attempts to do the hula. Topping off the night, music from “The Street Corner Symphony Band” played their upbeat melodies, while guests danced, laughed and truly enjoyed the fun.
The Luau was chaired by Elks Ladies Club president Mary Ann Alvarez with the help of Ladies Club and Elk members. The event was the club’s second annual Luau and raised over $1500 for the Elks Handicapped Children’s charity fund.
The Elks Ladies Club is the largest auxiliary club within the Elks Lodge, consisting mainly of women who are either members of the Elks or spouses of Elk members. The club’s primary mission is to support the Elks Lodge in fundraising for its many local, state and national charities.
