Elks Lodge #2444 host their annual October Senior Dance

Date:

The Mission Viejo Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge #2444 hosted their annual October Senior Dance this month  in association with the Norman P Murray Community & Senior Center so named after Norman P Murray, the first mayor of Mission Viejo and a Past Exalted Ruler of the Mission Viejo, Saddleback Valley Elks.

Eighty seniors from the community graced the Elks dance floor for four fun filled hours, enthusiastically dancing to the dulcet tones of Wayne Pulcini. Mr. Pulcini sang and played a musical smorgasbord of hits of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, from the likes of Cab Calloway, Al Martino, Jack Jones and Johnny Cash. All afternoon the attendees and volunteers swayed to the music and had a wonderful time together.
The tables in the Elks Lodge Room were beautifully decorated in white and black table cloths and gold napkins with lively centerpieces in fall colors and a touch of Halloween magic. Many thanks to the fine volunteers of the decorating committee including PER Gloria LeCouvre, Gail Patti, Gail O’Connor Fasi, Carol and Lloyd Bryan, Carol and Jim Glover.
A scrumptious dinner of caesar salad, rolls, chicken cordon bleu, sautéed vegetables, mashed potatoes with gravy and cake were lovingly prepared by Elks volunteers Pam Mackey, Vicky Long, Judy Klinger, and Cheryl & Dave Tucker. Dinner was promptly served with friendly smiles courtesy of the Girls Lacrosse Team of Laguna Hills High School and Coach Rick Hart. The team received a donation from the Elks for their service.

The dance floor filled with seniors enjoying the music of  Wayne Pulcini

Husband and wife Marie and Bill Shannon of Mission Viejo were winners in two raffles during this event. Norman Murray Center representative Linda Teichmann and Mission Viejo Elks PER Gloria LeCouvre presented Marie Shannon with a gift basket and Bill Shannon with the 50/50 raffle prize.
