
Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge No. 2444 (“Elks Lodge”) announced that it has extended its youth scouting program to support the new Cub Scout Troop 603. The Elks Lodge is a long time supporter of Girl Scout Troop 261 and Boy Scout Troop 603.
Cub Scout Troop 603 has an initial enrollment of thirty-eight (38) boys. The troop will be led by Scoutmaster David Mittwer with the active support of 9-12 other adults. The Elks Lodge provides meeting space and some on-going financial support for the foregoing mentioned scouting groups.
Dennis Lumley, Elks Lodge Scouting Chairman said, “Our Elks Lodge members are keenly interested in and supportive of the scout group’s objectives to assist in the character development of its youth as they grow into adulthood.”
The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Elks Lodge No. 2444, celebrating forty-two (42) years of service to the Saddleback Valley communities, is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois. The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 144 year history of giving, “Elks Care, Elks Share.”
