Elks Lodge Raises $10,000 to Defray Medical Costs of Members’ Grandson

Date:

Elks
Mother of Little Dougie, Meredith Collins (far right) and friends.

Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge No. 2444 raised $10,000 to help defray the medical costs of the grandson of members Dennis and Laura Lumley. The silent auction was attended by over 220 friends and family.

Douglas Brookins Collins (“Little Dougie”) was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (“CDH”). CDH affects 1 in 1,600 babies. After forty-five (45) days in intensive care at CHOC, Little Dougie passed away. His parents, Brad and Meredith Collins of Rancho Santa Margarita, were overwhelmed by the turn-out and financial support generated by the silent auction.
