
Mission Viejo / Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge (“Elks Lodge”) supported the final week long military veterans career transitional program called Power Up sponsored by Working Wardrobes/VetNet in Costa Mesa. Daily lunch for the veterans attending the program was provided by the Elks Lodge using through its Community Charity fund.
At the end of the week, Elks Lodge president Derek Randles attended the graduation ceremony for the 100 men who completed the six weeks of the Working Wardrobe career training program.
In addition to the final week, the six week program included services provided by hair stylists, several masseuse therapists and a shopping spree to purchase dress to impress clothing. Each graduate was given a suit bag full of items needed for their upcoming interviews.
The Mission Viejo / Saddleback Elks Lodge No. 2444, celebrating forty-four (44) years of service to the Saddleback Valley communities, is one of ten lodges in the Orange Coast District of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) whose headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois. The BPOE is a charitable organization with a 146 year history of giving, “Elks Care, Elks Share.”
