Mission Viejo Saddleback Valley Elks Lodge #2444 members, PER Gloria LeCouvre and Inner Guard Mike Long, conducted an Elks booth at The Shops in Mission Viejo for five hours on Saturday, August 16, 2014.
Ms. LeCouvre and Mr. Long shared information about the BPOE and personally handed out Elks program materials for Drug Awareness, Americanism, and Scholarships to over 200 individuals and families.
Elks Drug Awareness materials given to mall patrons included drug awareness pamphlets, coloring books, book markers and bracelets. Bracelets with a drug awareness message were a very big hit with the young children and teenagers.
More than 200 American flags and American flag education booklets were gifted to children, teenagers and adults of all ages. Elks Scholarship pamphlets were also given to college-bound teenagers and parents of same.
The Elks were warmly received by mall patrons. Many faces brightened with smiles and pride as they carried their new Elks gifts and proudly waved their American flags.
