“PERSPECTIVES ON NATURE” EXHIBIT
AT WELLS FARGO LAGUNA BEACH
November 7, 2013 – January 19, 2014

Opening Reception November 16th from 11am-1pm

LAGUNA BEACH, CA October 28, 2013 The Festival of Arts is pleased to announce a new exhibit at the Wells Fargo Bank in Laguna Beach entitled “Perspectives on Nature.” The exhibit is part of Art & Nature, a community-wide festival and conference presented by the Laguna Art Museum. The artwork of over 20 Festival of Arts exhibitors will be on display November 7, 2013 – January 19, 2014. The public is welcome to join the artists for a free reception on Saturday, November 16th, from 11 – 1pm at the Wells Fargo Bank.

The exhibit “Perspectives on Nature” focuses on Festival of Arts artists’ interpretation of nature in media that include painting, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture and photography. “It is a good example of how art and nature intersect,” said exhibit curator Tim Shockley. “Exhibitors represented in this show all use some aspect of nature in their creative process to produce original and thought provoking works of art.” 

Participating artists include W. Bradley Elsberry, Gary Fishman, Roger Folk, Rick Graves, Robin Johnson, Julita Jones, Mark Kerckhoff, Tom Lamb, Enrica Marshall, Gina Mead Howie, Geri Medway, Jacquie Moffett, Michael Obermeyer, Casey Parlette, Troy Poeschl, Bradford J. Salamon, Julie Sample, Tom Swimm, Mike Tauber, Dennis Zervas, and Caroline Zimmermann.

ABOUT WELLS FARGO GALLERY


This free exhibit is part of an ongoing series of shows that the Festival of Arts is having at Wells Fargo this year.  The Wells Fargo building is at 260 Ocean Avenue, Laguna Beach and is open to the public Monday through Friday 9am – 6pm. and Saturday 9am – 4pm.  The Festival of Arts is a non-profit organization whose proceeds go to support the arts in and about Laguna Beach.

The Festival of Arts “Perspectives on Nature” Exhibit at Wells Fargo Laguna Beach is part of Art & Nature, presented by Laguna Art Museum November 7-10, 2013. Art & Nature is a multidisciplinary exploration of art’s many and various engagements with the natural world. Both a community-wide festival and a conference, the event will include works of art specially commissioned for the event; nature-themed exhibitions and selections from the museum’s collection; a keynote address; lectures and panel discussions with artists, historians, scientists, and environmentalists; and children’s programs.
