FAMILY ART DAY THIS SATURDAY AT FESTIVAL OF ARTS
From noon- 3 p.m., the grounds will be full of fun activities, hands-on art projects, and more! Sponsored in part by Disneyland® Resort, Family Art Day is free with Festival Admission, and children 12 and under receive free admission all summer long.
When children arrive, they will be given a booklet containing coupons that they’ll get to redeem for the different projects and attractions. Kids will be able to create their own works of art at the Festival’s printmaking and mixed media workshops, presented by CalFirst National Bank.
Parents and children will enjoy “Art Quest” – an interactive treasure hunt where participants must explore and investigate the art exhibit to answer kid-friendly questions. It’s a great way to inspire conversation with the whole family about topics like color, dimension, medium, and types of art.
This year, guests are invited to experience the magic of Disney animation. As part of the Disneyland® Resort’s 60th Diamond Celebration, Disney Artist and Historian Stacia Martin will share stories and trivia while sketching classic Disney characters. Each original “mousterpiece” will be given away during the event.
Additionally, the grounds will be alive with entertainment for all ages with marionette shows, balloon art, face painting, live music and more!
“It’s one of my favorite events of the entire summer,” said Susan Davis, director of special events for the Festival of Arts. “On Family Art Day, children are introduced to new creative experiences not only through the hands on activities, but also through the artwork on display in the fine art exhibit. It’s wonderful to see families engaged with art!”
