Registration is underway for two new exciting classes at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center that are designed to nurture young children’s creativity and learning.
During the Family Music program, parents can participate with their toddlers ages 15 months to 3 1/2 years in singing; bouncing activities; jumping, twirling and dancing; and playing simple instruments – while developing strong musical bonds with their children. Through activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement, children’s musical aptitude and listening abilities are enhanced and developed.
The Family Music program takes place each Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. September 22 through November 10. Cost is $80. Registration is available online at econnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #3660.
In the Cycle of Seasons class, parents will celebrate their children’s love of nature and growing independence through activities that focus on the seasons of the year. Classes are designed to build attention and self-expression and include singing, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling. Parents and siblings join participants for the first 15 minutes and then kids the kids are independent for the remainder of the class.
The program, which caters to ages 3 to 5, takes place every Monday from 10:20 a.m. to 11 a.m. September 22 through November 10. Cost is $80. Registration is available online at econnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #3661.
