Spend a summer evening in the Ocean Institute’s Samueli Conference Center getting up close and personal with local scientists! Join us for our Family Science Nights in 2011 as we survey the stars, explore the seas and dive into the surf zone. Presentations will include a talk by a distinguished local scientist, activities for kids and a lab to introduce the whole family to the fascinating world of science.

The Ocean Institute will present is third Family Science Night on Tuesday, August 9, 6-8 p.m. The topic will be Astronomy.
The final science night will be August 23, and feature a discussion of marine animals.

Founded in 1977, the Ocean Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to ocean preservation through education, setting the standard for educational excellence and serving as a leading resource for universities, museums, teachers and all others seeking to increase their knowledge of the ocean.
