Few spots left for golf tournament that will benefit community teens

Several sponsors are on board for the 7th Annual Aliso Viejo Community Cup – but there’s still room for a few more golfers (or twosomes) to participate in the event that will benefit community teens.

The Aliso Viejo Community Cup takes place on Friday, June 4 at the Aliso Viejo Country Club, 33 Santa Barbara. The event kicks off at 11 a.m., with registration and activities starting at 9 a.m. The fun and competitive golf tournament includes a banquet, raffle, silent auctions, awards and more. Several “on-the-course” contests are also on par.

Golf price is $250 and includes a complimentary golf shirt, continental breakfast, box lunch and dinner. Golfers will be entertained by Eric Tracy, the Mulligan Man.

A host of organizations have signed on to sponsor and participate in the popular tournament including Title Sponsor CR&R Waste Services; Ace Sponsor Charles Abbott Associates; Double Eagle Sponsors PV Maintenance, Pacific Life Insurance and Professional Community Management; Eagle Sponsors Partners Bank of CA, McCarthy Building Companies, Best Best & Krieger LLP, Cox Communications, QLogic Corporation, SunWize, AT&T, and Parker Properties. Birdie Sponsors are APA Engineering, Doctor’s Ambulance and the Horowitz Group.

With a theme in step with Aliso Viejo’s 2010 celebration of the Year of the Youth, “Eight-TEEN Holes of Golf,” net proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Aliso Viejo Boys & Girls Club and its efforts to launch a Keystone Leadership Teen Program. The program focuses on leadership, education, career development, economic/political awareness and social recreation elements that are crucial to pointing teens into a positive direction.

The Aliso Viejo Country Club is located next to the Aliso Viejo Conference Center and Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center, which opened in May with Memorial Day activities planned to kick off the summer. The facilities are conveniently located off Glenwood at Golf Drive between Moulton Parkway and Aliso Creek Road.
