Get up close and personal with all the ships at the 36th Annual Boat Parade of Lights. Come aboard one of our decorated vessels to actually get out on the water and into the competition. Our fleet will join private boaters from all over Orange County as we decorate our boats. We’ll all vie for awards from Judges Choice to Best Use of Lights. Be sure to dress warm and bring your holiday cheer!

Join us to celebrate the holiday season. Santa will be here in Dana Point Harbor to to hear all your Christmas wishes and is available for pictures (be sure to bring your camera)! The three area of the Harbor – Dana Wharf, Mariner’s Village and Mariner’s Alley – will all host holiday activities geared to families and children. Our 3rd Annul Halibut Derby has started! Fish in the derby and you’ll have the opportunity to wine huge cash prizes! We have Halibut Drift Fridays running every week during the Derby! These 9-hour trips specifically target halibut. You can also enter on ANY 1/2 day or 3/4 day trip for $5. Last year’s winners won over $650 EACH! Each month, a $100 Dana Wharf gift card and an Okuma rod/reel will be awarded to the angler who catches the largest halibut that month!

Join us every Sunday for our free kid’s fishing clinic! Dana Wharf is proud to offer a dockside experience for young anglers! Ask the experts and learn new fishing techniques, new hook tying secrets, win raffle prizes and so much more! Try out your new techniques on the 1/2 day trip departing immediately after the clinic! Gray Whale Season is here and will run through the end of April! We are expecting to see the first Gray Whale of the season any day now! While we wait for the arrival of the first Gray Whales, we continue to see Blue Whales, Fin Whales and Minke Whales as well as hundreds, sometimes even thousands of dolphin! Each winter, the Pacific Gray Whales pass by Dana Point, many believe that Dana Point is a landmark on their journey. After spending the summer feeding in the food-rich waters of the arctic, the Grays swim south along the coast to the bays of Baja California, where they mate and nurse their young. Along the way they pass Dana Wharf, where you can witness the annual winter journey. We saw 371 Gray Whales last season!
