When San Diego radio station KPRI asked Ed Sheeran to perform for a selected group of listeners, the Grammy nominee selected LEGOLAND® California for the private concert. Today, Sheeran who is a huge LEGO® fan, performed his hit songs including “LEGO House” and “The A Team”, answered questions from the audience and even gave out a couple of hugs to some fans.
LEGOLAND surprised Sheeran with a birthday cake as fans sang “Happy Birthday” to Sheeran who turns 22 on Sunday. A few lucky listeners also got the chance to meet Sheeran backstage and get his autograph.
Sheeran finished his visit by signing a LEGO star for the new LEGOLAND Hotel at LEGOLAND California Resort, opening April 5, and he made a quick stop for some last minute shopping while his screaming fans gathered to get one last look of the British singer-songwriter.
Having visited LEGOLAND Windsor Hotel, Sheeran shared his thoughts on what guests can expect from the new LEGOLAND Hotel at LEGOLAND California, “if you’re not that into being a grown-up you can come to LEGOLAND and it has the different themed rooms and you get to be a pirate” and he discussed what LEGO set he recently built, “I built the Death Star when I was at home at Christmas, yeah it took a while”.
Sheeran recently performed at the Grammys with legendary singer Sir Elton John and commented that he wants to bring Taylor Swift to the Park during her 2013 Red Tour.
