HOLIDAY PARADE
Moulton Elementary will once again be participating in the City of Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 11. You and your family are invited to attend. Come join the fun, see our student council members and maybe some other celebrities too! Cox TV will broadcast the parade on Sunday.
NOONTIME SPORTS
This Friday begins our weekly organized sports and activities during lunch recess.
Thank you, Ann Freestone for organizing this fun event and all of our tremendous parent volunteers.
SPARK OF LOVE TOY DRIVE DECEMBER 13 through December 17
The official Orange County Toy Drive will be sponsored at Moulton School by Ms. Collins, Mrs. Andersen and the Student Council. Collection Boxes will be available in the front office the week of December 13-17. Sparks of Love combines all of the efforts of Firefighters, Toys for Tots, Operation Santa Clause and St. Vicente de Paul Holiday Charities.
Donations can include new unwrapped toys, sports equipment or gift cards. Our efforts will help bring holiday joy to thousands of needy children and families throughout Orange County.
MOULTON’S CELEBRATION BOOK CLUB
New List of Books!! Reserve yours today!!
Would you like to honor your child’s birthday, applaud a major accomplishment, recognize good grades or just proclaim your child an outstanding Moulton Hawk? You can by purchasing a book for the Moulton Library! What a great way to celebrate, increase our books in the library and leave a legacy behind at Moulton!
In recognition of your donation to the library, your child will be presented with the book donated by the principal during a Friday morning Flag Salute (they’ll be the first to check it out) and a “Book Plate” will be affixed to the inside cover of your book selection announcing ‘This book was donated in your child’s honor’. They’ll also receive a special bookmark to keep and to remember their donation. We will be displaying our monthly Celebration Book Club donator’s pictures in the library, as well.
All books are library ready and district approved. $20 reserves your book, so plan ahead!
Forms are on moultonpta.org and at the front office. A list of books is available at the front office or by email. Questions, email Linda Fong at lindawbm@hotmail.com.
PARENTS MARK YOUR CALENDARS
I’m excited to announce that Moulton’s PTA is sponsoring a Parent Education night on Wednesday, January 12 at 6:30-8:00 P.M.
The incredible Dr. Jerry Weichman Ph.D. will present How to Promote Kindness and Compassion at School and at Home.
The timing of this relevant topic comes at such a critical time in our children’s development. Dr. Weichman is a clinical psychologist that has been in practice for 12 years in the Orange County area. He is on staff at the Hoag Neuroscience Institute and has published a book for teens titled ‘How to Deal’.
In addition to having a private practice, Dr. Weichman is also a teen motivational speaker, parent educator, and television news expert. His talk at Moulton will focus around Tools and Strategies for parents and children to deal with bullying and social conflict.
This is a not to be missed, free educational opportunity for all Moulton parents, guardians and adult care providers.
SOCSA PRESENTS
Little Women: The Musical! Come enjoy the musical based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic 1869 semi-autobiographical novel, it focuses on the four March sisters: brassy tomboy-like, aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy, and kind-hearted Beth – and their beloved Marmee, at home in Concord, Mass. while the family patriarch is away serving as Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio.
