Loving Families Needed
Have you been wondering how you can volunteer in your community but you have limited time? Host a Foreign Exchange Student! This is a great way to serve the world community and promote cultural understanding.
– New students from all over the world need host families for the 2009-10’ school year.
-Students are ages 15-18 and attend local high schools for a semester or full academic year.
-Host Families get to choose their student from our website – choose gender, country of origin, and filter based on activities and interests.
-Host Families provide shelter, basic food and loving support. The students have their own spending money for all other expenses and their own insurance.
-Local support is provided as an academic coordinator will serve as a liaison between the family, the student and the school.
This is an intimate cultural exchange that creates a lifelong curiosity about other cultures within your own family. While you are fulfilling the wish of a child from abroad – to be part of a real American family – you may find the true fulfillment within your own experience.
Many host families travel abroad later in life to visit their “kids” and maintain a lifelong relationship with that student and their families.
American families come in all colors, shapes and sizes. We need families with kids, empty-nesters, even single parents are encouraged to apply. Be part of the change and reach out to build a bridge to a new America.
