City launches the Aliso Viejo Exchange (AVX), the first-of-its-kind program that matches volunteers, organizations and businesses |

The city of Aliso Viejo has rolled out its new Aliso Viejo Exchange (AVX) program, a one-stop-shop program that easily provides for volunteers, organizations and businesses to connect with one another for public and community service opportunities. The program serves as an easy-to-use online clearinghouse for individuals and groups looking for community and public service opportunities. AVX also allows organizations and businesses throughout the city to promote ways to give back to the community. This unique program – the brainchild of Mayor Pro Tem Phil Tsunoda – offers a dynamic new approach and serves as the central hub for community, public service and volunteer opportunities. It eliminates wasted time and energy spent by organizations and individuals pursuing their right volunteer fit. To date, more than 600 opportunities from a number of local businesses and organizations have been posted, with hundreds more expected to be added in the coming weeks. AVX is truly the one-stop-shop for those who are pursuing community and volunteer opportunities. “During the nearly 12 years since Aliso Viejo incorporated, the community has done a remarkable job cultivating our youth and helping those in need or less fortunate,” said Mayor Pro Tem Phil Tsunoda. “The residents of Aliso Viejo truly care about giving back to their community and there is no doubt that AVX will only help foster these efforts. I am a true believer in investing in our community and the Aliso Viejo Exchange will help accomplish this by making the process of pursuing public and community service opportunities easier and more convenient. I hope every person would want to be part of an effort to help those individuals who possess the heart and willingness to sacrifice their time and energy to assist others in the community.” Individuals, schools, churches, students, nonprofit organizations and businesses can access the AVX website at www.alisoviejoexchange.com to connect with volunteer opportunities or to post their community and public service needs. Whether it’s volunteering at the city’s Snow Fest on Jan. 26; providing tutoring services or assistance to the elderly; participating in a park clean-up project; or helping out at the numerous civic activities in the city, AVX has something for everyone. Visit the site at www.alisoviejoexchange.com today to either sign up as a volunteer or as an organization in need of volunteers.
