THE POUND Celebrates Grand Opening National Hot Dog Day July 23 at 11 a.m.
It’s one of America’s favorite summertime sandwiches. Now, THE POUND, a new street-stand style hot dog eatery, has opened at Kaleidoscope Center located at 27741 Crown Valley Parkway just off the 5 Freeway in Mission Viejo. THE POUND will host its Grand Opening Celebration on National Hot Dog Day, Tues., July 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. with giveaways, entertainment and food sampling.
THE POUND features Hebrew National quarter-pound hot dogs, hand-dipped corn dogs, pure beef hamburgers, Bavarian bratwurst, Polska kielbasa, Louisiana hot links, fresh-cut fries made from whole Kennebec Idaho potatoes, house chili, fresh-baked brioche buns, and pure ice cream milk shakes.
“Our promise to our customers is to serve a high-quality product in a fun environment,” said Dan Lauriano, Owner. “We are excited to bring this fun slice of Americana cuisine to Kaleidoscope to complement the existing great variety of eateries. Part New York City hot dog cart, part mid-American burger diner, THE POUND is delicious and fun for the diverse Kaleidoscope community.”
THE POUND is a fast-casual counter service with a made-to-order format where customers dress their dogs, burgers and fries with its customized order sheets. While traditional toppings like Ketchup, mustard and relish are available, THE POUND’s famous toppings will set each creation apart. THE POUND offers chili, bacon, fried onions, fried egg, avocado, a variety of cheeses, sauerkraut, jalapeños, pickles, a variety of sauces, including Sabrett® onion sauce, and more. The hot dogs are made of 100 percent Kosher Beef and contain no fillers, no by-products, no artificial flavors or colors and no gluten. The hamburger patties are 100 percent American chuck beef, pure, never frozen, with no additives, fillers or preservatives.
The “Dog Tag” in the logo is a symbol of THE POUND’s permanent promotion. Custom dog tags will be given to customers who add the “secret ingredient of the day” to one of their dog or burger creations. The custom dog tag will entitle the winning customer to a 10 percent discount anytime they wear the necklace to THE POUND. THE POUND also honors U.S. Military service men and women by offering a 10 percent appreciation discount to those who show their real dog tags.
