Laguna Beach Home or $1 Million?

Date:

Winner of the 6th Annual Laguna Beach Home Raffle gets to choose.
One lucky winner for the 6th year in a row will decide home or cash

DANA POINT, CA, – The final deadline for the Ocean Institute’s Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle is just over a week away, on Wednesday, October 20. So far, 14,000 tickets totaling $2.1 million have been sold. Greg Goggin, developer of the raffle, commented, “Home raffle ticket sales are tracking almost identical to last year as buyers recognize this is a chance for them to win either $1 million or a home in Laguna Beach when their ticket is chosen.”

In 2009, Eric & Paige Gage of Valley Village were the winners and selected the $1 million dollar cash prize. The Ocean Institute is one of the few raffles in the state that has awarded the grand prize every year; and is likely to be the only one in the state to give away its advertised grand prize in 2010, reported Goggin. “Every California raffle states in their rules the minimum number of tickets they must sell in order to award the grand prize. Ours is 15,000 and it’s a number we can hit.

Consumers will be well served to review this part of the rules of any raffle they are considering to enter.”
Tickets are $150 each, a maximum 20,000 tickets will be sold. In addition to the grand prize, there are over 400 cash and merchandise prizes including bonus drawings for multiple ticket purchasers. The Grand Prize drawing will be held at noon on Saturday, November 6 at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point.

“The home raffle has produced hundreds of winners while raising funds that benefit the 110,000 school children the Ocean Institute serves every year,” Goggin commented. To purchase a ticket and for more information on the raffle, please call (949) 542-3600 or visit www.ocean-institute.org. All proceeds benefit the non-profit Ocean Institute. The 2010 Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle is registered with the California Attorney General’s Office.
