Laguna Niguel MAYOR AND MAYOR PRO TEM SELECTED FOR 2017

Date:

At their December 6, 2016 meeting, the City Council certified the results of the November 8 elections where incumbents Laurie Davies and Jerry Slusiewicz, along with newcomer John Mark Jennings, were elected to fill the three open 4-year terms on the Laguna Niguel City Council.

The City Council selected Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Slusiewicz to serve as Mayor for 2017.  Council Member Fred Minagar was selected to serve as the new Mayor Pro Tem.  The City Council, including the new Mayor, will be riding in the Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade along Crown Valley Parkway this Saturday starting at 10 am.

The City Council also thanked former Mayor and Council Member Gary Capata for serving on the Council for the past six months.  Council Member Gary Capata was appointed to the City Council on June 21, 2016 to fill the vacant Council seat caused by the passing of the Honorable Jerry McCloskey.  Capata’s term expired with the certification of the November 8 election results.
