Laguna Woods residents Karim Amiri and Najib Yaqjub, who previously played on Afghanistan’s national ping pong team, will be giving demonstrations of their skills at Soka University’s 11th Annual International Festival at (time) on Saturday, May 5th . The Ping Pong demonstrations will take place on the back patio of Founders Hall, the large copper domed building near the campus entrance.
When you’re not learning new ping pong strategies, there will be plenty of other things to do at the Festival – like watching international dancers and musicians performing continuously on three stages…including inside the new Soka Performing Arts Center. (Please leave the cotton candy outside!) There are also over 250 exhibitors to explore, and lots of intriguing international food. Takoyaki or Indonesian satay, anyone?
Admission to the International Festival, which runs from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, is free. Parking on campus is $10, but you can park for free at the Ziggurat building in Laguna Niguel (Chet Holifield Federal Building, 24000 Avila near the Dorine Rd entrance) and take a free shuttle which comes every 30 minutes. Soka University is located at 1 University Drive, Aliso Viejo.
