Governmental Affairs & Legislative Advocacy
Wednesday, December 15 7:30 am at Laguna Woods Community Center, 24351 El Toro Road in Laguna Woods
“As part of its role as the leading voice for business in the region, the South Orange County Regional Chamber of Commerce has identified a number of critical public issues that could impact your ability to grow your business over the next year:
• Reliable and well-maintained transportation system for both employee commutes and the transport of goods and services
• An ample and affordable supply of housing for the region’s workforce
• Quality education system to adequately prepare the next generation’s workforce for a competitive global marketplace
• Limited taxes and regulations that can stifle economic growth
For years, the Regional Chamber has effectively voiced position of local businesses on legislation being considered in Washington D.C., Sacramento, Orange County Board of Supervisors as well as at the local levels of government. We will continue this moving forward.
But we’ve also heard that there is a great need to proactively advocate the Chamber’s position and effect change at the grassroots level. We agree. And to that end, next week task forces will convene to chart out specific strategies to ensure that the voice of business in south Orange County is heard throughout the County and State.
At 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, we will hold meetings of two task forces – one focused on addressing housing and infrastructure, the other on tackling unnecessary regulations, fees and business taxes. You are cordially invited to join us at these task force meetings, which will take place at Laguna Woods Community Center, 24351 El Toro Road in Laguna Woods.
