Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Seeking Participants for Team In Training Events, Athletic Competitions Which Raise Money to Fight Cancer

SANTA ANA, CALIF., April 15, 2009 – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Orange County/Inland Empire Chapter (LLS) is recruiting Team In Training® (TNT) participants for events including the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco, the Long Beach Marathon and Half Marathon, the Nautica Triathlon in Malibu and the Cool Breeze Century. Information meetings are being held throughout Orange County; the kick-off meeting is Saturday, May 16, 9 a.m. at Century High School, 1401 S. Grand Avenue, Santa Ana.
“Team In Training helps participants take on an athletic challenge they might never imagine accomplishing on their own while giving them the opportunity to help other people,” said Janine Ingram, LLS Executive Director.
TNT, the world’s first, biggest and best sports training program, provides four to five months of certified coaching, a supportive group of teammates and clinics on nutrition, gear and injury prevention, to help you complete a marathon, half marathon, triathlon, century ride or hike adventure. TNT has prepared more than 389,000 participants, from novices to accomplished endurance racers, since its inception in 1988. In that time, TNT participants have raised more than $950 million to support LLS’s blood cancer research and patient services initiatives.
For additional TNT information, call the Orange County/Inland Empire Office at 888-535-9300 x422; or visit: www.teamintraining.org/ocie.
