Local Organization – Serving Our World – Looking For Sponsors This Holiday Season

Date:

November 2009
Dear Neighbors,
Christmas is the Season of spreading HOPE! As you prepare for the
Christmas celebration, we ask you to connect with Serving Our World
and with the many who are in need.

As I walk through narrow pathways
in the slum districts of Thailand, I see rows of homes made from
meager amounts of leftover tin. Down
these paths, I search for the most
desperate children, children who have
nowhere to go for shelter but under
exposed and dirty cement stairs. More
frightening than that, I know I am
not the only one looking for them.

Tragically, there are evil predators
who force these innocent children
into abuse and sexual slavery, hoping
to trade children’s lives for money.

This Christmas, we at Serving
Our World desire to create a new
beginning for those forsaken and
forgotten children, and widows,
so they can experience the JOY of
real LOVE.

YOUR gift will be a hand
reaching out to them with a LOVE
that has power to changes lives,
connecting to those who have nothing
and whose existence without your
help is uncertain.

Serving Our World
is you in action reaching out to
children and families in need.

Short Words
of Ana Lemos

Grandma Ana, with her two
grandsons were at their home when
Serving Our World visited them.
Grandma talked with Serving Our
World staff about her life as a widow.
“I am old now, I can’t do nothing, just
stay home with my grandsons, and
my son he is the one who went to
the garden every day cleaning and
growing things for our daily meals.”
“It’s really not that easy to get foods,
sometimes they spent all the times
just in the garden to get the foods
for us.” “I am old now, sometimes I get
sick so I can’t help them very much.”
“Serving Our World in Lequedoe
is very good for our children’s future
and I want for Serving Our World
keep develop it to reach more
children to come to the classes. And I
hope even for me as a widow and old,
Serving Our World also can help us.
Thank you.”

Whether in Thailand or East Timor, we
invite YOU to be a part this Christmas
Season through one of our greatest
outreaches! Help those who are suffering
and Change Hopelessness into a Joyous
Season of Hope!

Together we will not
only be sharing in feeding, clothing
and caring, but bringing whole villages
with their numerous parentless children,
widows and struggling families, together
by encouraging them with a message that
will change their future.

What does it mean to enjoy and to express the feeling of Christmas?
Can it be measured or is it just about the frenzy of gifts, some
that aren’t quite right and must be returned and some forgotten as
quickly as they are opened. I believe that the physical act of giving
and sharing this Christmas will truly be felt by those who are in
desperate need. My joy is in being part of the solution and giving the
gift that will bring change to those with no hope.

Christmas is forever, not for just one day, for loving, sharing, giving,
are not to put away like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box
upon a shelf.

The good you do for others is good you do yourself.
–Norman W. Brooks

As we seek to serve more children, we desperately need YOU to make it
happen. Your contributions will bring so much hope to these children and
families in need. This year, will you include a few desperate children
to be part of your Christmas Season?

Or will you help a widow like Ana
and her two grandchildren so she does not feel alone?
Serving Our Word promises to deliver
special packages on your behalf to these
remote villages. On the other side of the
world, you will be reaching out to these
desperate people with supplies and so
much more, a message of Love that makes
all the difference!
Remember, in the time it takes you
to read this letter, another child in
Thailand, under the age of 12, is lost
to the horrors of the sex trade. Your
thoughtful donation today will help save
these children, one life at a time. Please choose to rescue a child – it
will be one of the most important and selfless decisions of your life.

Together reaching those in need,
Michael Thomforde
