With a new year on its way, it’s time to start thinking about your pet’s welfare in 2010. Be sure to mark your calendar for the city’s low-cost Pet & Vet Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 23.
The city’s Family Resource Center and the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center are teaming up to a host the clinic from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at 24671 Via Iglesia.
Vaccinating pets helps to ward off disease and illness, veterinarians say. Though they are not required by law, except for the dog rabies vaccination, immunizing pets is recommended for the well being of animals.
Dog vaccines include the four-in-one vaccine (DA2PP) and the Bordetella vaccine.
Cats vaccines include the three-in-one vaccine (FVRCP).
Dog and cat rabies vaccines are $6 each. DA2PP and FVRCP vaccines are $15 each.
Bordetella vaccine is $12.
Pets can also be micro-chipped, with registration and lifetime monitoring, for $28.
