The Young Americans World Tour
Seeking Actors Ages 9 to 18
Mission Viejo, CA – Saddleback College Performing Arts and Community Education are thrilled to offer a summer camp for students in grades 4-12 to attend The Young Americans World Tour Summer Camp on August 6-10, 2012. This camp gives participants a great look into how Hollywood takes music from the screen to the stage while bringing to life many of Broadway’s greatest hits. Young actors will experience workshops, lessons, and performance enrichment activities. This five-day intensive day camp from Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, will culminate in two public performances on Saturday August 11th. The camp’s finale will be a celebration show for the community, featuring the participants alongside The Young Americans. Students must bring a snack and bag lunch each day. The Young Americans are the instructors. They are celebrating their 50th Anniversary of performing and teaching around the world. The fee is $235 (includes a camp t-shirt). MainStage Kids Youth Theatre Company
Seeking Actors Ages 8 to 18
Mission Viejo, CA – MainStage Kids, offered by Saddleback College Performing Arts and Community Education, is a new youth theatre company designed to prepare young actors ages 8-16 who aspire to perform professionally one day. The company accepts experienced young actors who want more musical theatre training as well as new-to-the-stage performers who are eager to learn it all. This exciting theatre program will challenge and inspire all levels of talent. Directed and taught by theatre professionals, this innovative program offers students professional standards and insights that are put into practice in a fully-mounted main-stage production at the end of the session.
An orientation for the students and their parents will be held on Friday, June 1, 6-8 pm in the Studio Theatre at Saddleback College. There will be an opportunity for all students to be a part of the crew by assisting with the development of the set. MainStage Kids class and rehearsals are Monday-Friday, June 25 – August 3, 9 am to 2:50 pm. The fee is $575. For further information contact 949-582-4646.

MainStage Kids is a Children’s Theatre company working in connection with Performing Arts and Community Education at Saddleback College to bring professional level Children’s Theatre to Orange County. The company features young actors ages 8-18. Their first production of Seussical Jr. the Musical was performed last summer to sold-out houses.
Saddleback College is located at 28000 Marguerite Pkwy in Mission Viejo, just east of Interstate 5 at the Avery Parkway exit. Parking is available in Lot 12. Take Avery Parkway to Marguerite Parkway turn left to the third traffic light, which is Saddleback’s Marguerite entrance. Turn right into the campus and take the third left to “Theatre Circle,” turning right into Lot 12.
