The public is invited to a screening of the delightful “Mary Poppins” on Sunday, December 21 at Mission Viejo City Hall.
The film, which airs at 2 p.m., is sponsored by the City’s Community of Character Committee and coincides with December’s character trait of “caring.”
Julie Andrews won a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Mary Poppins, a caring and magical nanny who comes to work for a cold banker’s unhappy family and in a “most delightful way” teaches them how to enjoy life. The movie received 13 Academy Award nominations and features such iconic songs as “Chim Chim Cher-ee,” “A Spoonful of Sugar” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
The film will be shown on a theater-size screen with theater-style seating and surround-sound at 200 Civic Center, just across from the Mission Viejo Library.
