Cox Communications, Orange County Business Council, Orange County Department of Education and County of Orange Supervisor Michelle Steel join Computers 2 Kids to rally businesses and the public

Due to the need for distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, Computers 2 Kids (C2K) has received a record number of requests for computers from low-income families. To meet the need, Cox Communications, Orange County Business Council and the Orange Department of Education, are joining together to rally businesses and the public for a two-week computer drive where they can donate computers they no longer use that will be refurbished to benefit local students.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:

  • 1 in 4 students started at-home learning without access to a computer
  • 50% of low-income families still have no access to a computer or internet at home
  • 95% of schools started this fall with remote learning only
