PER ANNIVERSARY BBQ – BIG SUCCESS
Over one hundred-twenty (120) members and their families gathered for a gala BBQ celebrating forty-four years of service to the Saddleback community.
There were thirteen Past Exalted Rulers (past Lodge presidents) present, all working hard to make sure the day was enjoyable.
President of the PER Association & event chair Pat Martino and his crew served up a delicious meal of Tri-Tip, chicken, ribs, beans, salad & dessert.
Members enjoyed watching the Exalted Rulers from previous years working so hard. “It’s not like they never work around here, but watching these lodge executives work up a sweat dishing up food and busing tables is a kick for us,” joked long time member Don Berreth, as he sat with wife Kay enjoying the dinner.
Music on the patio was furnished by the rock band “Roll The Dice” who generously donated most of their usual fee back to the Elk’s charity fund. Many old friendships were renewed as members reminisced about the good old days in Mission Viejo.
PER president Pat Martino, summed up the day saying, “Members spend countless hours throughout the year working hard on our charitable endeavors.”
That’s what Elkdom and this Lodge is all about, so it’s wonderful to see these members enjoying a day that is designed just for them to relax over a good meal with family and friends. They deserve it.”
