Mission to Open California Missions Resource Studio on March 19
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., March 9, 2009 – Mission San Juan Capistrano is pleased to announce the opening of its new California Missions Resource Studio on the first day of the Return of the Swallows celebration, Thursday, March 19. Students and their parents are invited to make use of the studio in researching student mission reports so that they may better build mission models, make power points or video presentations or complete other projects for schools.
“The study of the California missions is an important part of our students’ curriculum,” noted Helen Gavin, Mission Docent Society president. “Not only does our new Resource Studio offer an abundance of materials so students can complete a successful project, it does so amidst the backdrop of Orange County’s only historic mission, Mission San Juan Capistrano.”
The studio offers timelines, research materials, mission brand rubbing plates, and workspace for researching. Use of the studio is included in the price of paid admission to the Mission; it is open daily 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. The California Missions Resource Studio is presented courtesy Bill Ortega’s Mission Gift Shops, Inc.
