Mission Viejo Event – Cookie donations still sought for City’s adopted Marines, Sailors

Date:

marinesCommunity cookie donations are still sought for the Marines and Sailors Adoption Committee’s annual “Family Appreciation Day” for members of the Headquarters Battalion of the 1st Marine Division.

Roughly 1,200 Marines and family members are expected to attend the spring event at Lake Mission Viejo. The cookies are a small token of appreciation for the sacrifices the service men and women and their families continue to make in the name of freedom.

The goal is to serve 5,000 cookies or Rice Krispies treats at the family event.  Whether you can donate one or 100 cookies, the gesture is appreciated.

Deliver your cookies with your name (or group name) and number of cookies attached to the Recreation and Community Services Department located on the second floor of City Hall by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 24.  City Hall is at 200 Civic Center.

For more information, contact Barbara Swanson at 949-859-4348 x 5723 orbswanson@cityofmissionviejo.org.
