Reminder No School this Friday-
This Friday, October 4th is an instructional furlough day which means no school for students. School will resume Monday, October 7th.
Magazine Sale-
GUESS WHAT!!! The magazine fundraiser has been extended! The new ending date is Wednesday, October 9th. Tomorrow, October 3rd will be ANOTHER duck day! So, sell some more magazines and cookie dough and bring in your blue coupons tomorrow to earn more ducks! ASB will be in front of the school handing out ducks and on the stage at lunch.
Federal Impact Aid-
Please remember to have your student(s) return the completed Federal Impact Aid form to their first period teacher by Monday, October 7th. If you need another copy of the form it can be found on the Newhart homepage under the “News” section.
8th Grade Yearbook Dedication Ads-
8th grade parents – the deadline is coming up fast to get your 8th grade dedication ads into the yearbook for your student! It’s a special way to commemorate their 8th grade year! Forms and information are in the front office. The early bird deadline is Friday, October 11th! Don’t miss out!
Newhart Family Dine Out at Panera Bread
Newhart ASB and PTA invite you to a Family Dine Out at Panera Bread at 25523 Marguerite Parkway on Thursday, October 10th. Already have dinner plans? No problem? Panera Bread has wonderful pastries and coffee drinks for dessert. Or grab a quick smoothie before or after practice. Dine in or take it To-Go!
A portion of the proceeds will come back to Newhart Middle School to support student incentive programs. Just print the flyer available on the Newhart website. PAL and ASB students will also be handing out flyers at school. Present the flyer to the cashier when making your purchase between 5 pm and 8 pm on Thursday, October 10th.

Walk Against Drugs Community Fair-
Come join the City of Mission Viejo at the 25th annual Celebration Fair Saturday, October 19th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Village on the Green, 24932 Veterans Way. There will be inflatable’s, games, food, and crafts. For more information contact tdescoteaux@cityofmissionviejo.org
Free Cyber Safety Class for Parents-
What is cyber bullying? How can we effectively supervise children online? On Monday, October 7 from 6pm-8:30pm, Child Safety Deputy Clay Cranford will be answering these questions and more at the Parents Only Cyber Safety class at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center in Rancho Santa Margarita. Important reminder about arriving at school early-
Newhart Middle School does not open for students until 8:00am Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and 9:00am Wednesdays. Students are not to arrive on campus earlier than this. Please do not drop off students before these times, there is no supervision available.
Drop off & Pick up-
Please remember when dropping off and picking up your students from Newhart to follow all posted traffic signs on La Paz and Veterans Way. There are often sheriff officers out giving tickets for those who do not. When entering the Newhart parking lot from Veterans Way please do not block the driveway or double park on Veterans Way. Please follow all one way arrows and stay with the flow of traffic. We want all students and parents to be safe so please be considerate. A traffic flow map of the parking lot is available on the schools website.
Newhart PAL Recycling- This Thursday!
Please support our school by bringing your cans and bottles to Newhart for recycling this Thursday. PAL students will be outside to collect cans and bottles before school so you don’t even have to get out of your car! Every bottle or can helps! Thank you for your support. Go Panthers!
