The City of Laguna Niguel will be holding a public workshop regarding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. An important part of the workshop is to ask residents and other stakeholders what you think are the most important needs in your neighborhood. CDBG funds have been used in the past for projects like the YMCA after school childcare program and the Sea Country Senior Center expansion project.
When: Tuesday, February 16th @ 5 P.M.
Where: City Hall Council Chambers – 27841 La Paz Rd, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677
5-Year Plan:
A workshop will be held to review the City’s 5-year plan, a guide for allocating CDBG funds and setting goals and objectives. The City is undertaking an assessment of housing and community development needs that affects the use of CDBG funds and an analysis of potential impediments that may affect fair housing choice in the City based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, disability, familial status, marital status, source of income, sexual orientation, or any arbitrary factor. The workshop is open to the public.
About the CDBG Program:
Each year the City of Laguna Niguel receives approximately $350,000 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for local community development, housing activities, and public services.
