Dear All-Star Students, Staff, Parents, and Community Members,
I am honored to introduce myself as the newly appointed Principal of Oak Grove Elementary School. Having served as Oak Grove’s Assistant Principal for past 15 months, I know why our school is exemplary: a dedicated, professional, and knowledgeable staff, a supportive and hardworking PTA and community, and students who arrive at school eager and prepared to learn.
Most of you know me as Mrs. OCB, but you may not know that I started my career in CUSD in 1988. I worked for many years at Moulton Elementary and was on the planning team to assist in the opening of Laguna Niguel Elementary in 2002. I have a BA in economics with a minor in political science from UC Irvine, a MA in education from Pepperdine, as well as a multiple subject and administrative services credentials. I am married with two children; a son who is a recent graduate of San Clemente High School who attends Saddleback Community College, and a daughter in the eighth grade at Bernice Ayer Middle School in San Clemente. I am an avid reader, I love to play with my dog, Roxanne, and I recently completed my third marathon.
During this transition phase, it is important for all members of the Oak Grove family to continue the quality instruction and programs for which Oak Grove is known. I believe that children are our most precious resource and working as a Professional Learning Community, we (teachers, staff, parents, and community) will need to act together to ensure our students continue to learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment. With collaboration, Oak Grove can reach even greater accomplishments.
One of my goals is to develop open communication. To this end, I invite you to attend a Principal’s Meet and Greet on Friday, January 7th immediately after the Friday Morning Assembly. I encourage you to attend the Tiles for Technology Family Fun Night/PTA Meeting on January 19th at 5:00-8:00 P.M. Additionally, you may email me (jobogle@capousd.org) or feel free to stop by the office. I welcome and encourage community input and partnerships. I am looking forward to a great beginning.
“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” Plato
Sincerely,
Jill O’Connell-Bogle
