Registration is open now for the Ocean Institute’s Buccaneer Adventure Camp, a week-long summer program for children ages 7-8, beginning on June 20 & 27, July 5, 11, 18 & 25 and August 1, 8 & 15, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Set a course for adventure exploring the seas, encountering the unknown, learning to sail and becoming true buccaneers! Learn about the life of a pirate at sea and experience the lost arts of the mariners.
Each day is filled with hands-on activities including fun crafts, sail handling, rowing, storytelling, treasure hunts, encountering historic characters (perhaps a pirate or two!) and voyaging to sea aboard the R/V Sea Explorer.
Little Buccaneers complete their pirate training by the end of week and celebrate with “Dress Like a Pirate Day.” Adventures include dockside activities aboard the tall ship Pilgrim and on the floating Maddie James Seaside Learning Center.
Cost is $350, or become an Ocean Institute member and receive a discounted $265 price. Register online at http://www.ocean-institute.org/summer-camp/buccaneer-adventure-camp or call (949) 496-2274 for additional information.
