DANA POINT, CA, September 28, 2010 – The Ocean Institute and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography will present the 3rd Annual Surfscience Teen Conference funded by the National Science Foundation.
The Conference is for 8th to 12th grade students with an interest in exploring the surf zone, ocean science, and finding out about related college and career paths on Saturday, October 23, 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Participants will:
• Meet and interact with researchers from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego
• Use the researchers’ oceanographic equipment while assisting with surf zone experiments
• Learn more about ocean careers from the Scripps’ researchers and graduate students and much more.
The $15 registration fee includes a light breakfast, lunch, and the bus trip from the Ocean Institute in Dana Point to Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego.
