Family, friends of Kyla Ross will attend Olympic Rally Party in Aliso Viejo Sunday |
| Family, friends and neighbors of Kyla Ross will join the Aliso Viejo community at Buffalo Wild Wings Sunday in cheering on the gymnast as she goes for the gold in the summer Olympics. Ross’ sister, aunt, friends and others from Gym-Max Gymnastics in Costa Mesa where Kyla trains will be on hand for the community’s Olympic Rally Party around 6 p.m. at the Town Center eatery. Televised coverage of the women’s gymnastics team is expected to air that evening. The all-day Olympic Rally Party begins at 11 a.m. and runs through midnight at 26711 Aliso Creek Road. A schedule of events is available at https://usagym.org/pages/events/olympics/schedule.html. At 15, Ross is the youngest member of the five-person gymnastics team the U.S. has sent to London to compete in the summer Olympics. She is part of the strongest U.S. women’s team in recent memory with a great shot at beating its closest rivals, China, Russia and Romania. She will compete on the talent-laden team with her childhood friend McKayla Maroney. The two grew up near each other in Aliso Viejo and followed similar paths to gymnastics. Maroney comes to London as a favorite on the vault. The public is invited to join family and friends to root the women’s gymnastics team on while enjoying some delectable fare at Buffalo Wild Wings. Parties of two or more that mention they came to watch Ross in action will receive 10 percent off their food. |
