The Level 4 competitive team from Olympica Gymnastics in Laguna Hills began their season this past weekend at the NAWGJ-Southern California Judges’ Cup, which was held at Team OC Gymnastics in Costa Mesa.
Aliso Viejo resident, Reese Larson, took first place on floor exercise and bars with a score of 9.450 on both events. She also placed third on vault (9.050). Reese was the All-Around champion in the Senior A division, scoring an impressive 36.925.
In the Senior B division, Adison Rusin of Laguna Niguel took second place on vault with a score of 9.100.
Sasha PourTeimour of Mission Viejo was the floor champion in the Junior B division with a score of 9.325. Also in the Junior B division, teammate Teagan Blandford of San Clemente took third on bars, scoring a 9.375.
The next competition for these gymnasts will be in Temecula the weekend of September 21-22.
