Olympica Gymnasts Celebrate Success

Olympica Gymnastics Academy’s optional teams competed at the 2020 Gliders Invitational Gymnastics Meet this past weekend in Ontario. Many gymnasts brought home some hardware for their performances.

Level 7 gymnast, Kylie Phillips of Laguna Niguel, took home the silver on bars, scoring a 9.500 and the bronze in the All Around with a 38.850 in the younger division.  In the Level 7 middle division, Kirra Schmitt of San Clemente and Bela Block of Aliso Viejo tied for the silver on floor exercise with a 9.250, and Addison Malue of Mission Viejo earned the silver on vault with a score of 8.950.  Misha Parsons of Dana Point took gold on beam (9.375) and silver on floor (9.450) in the older division.

 

Samantha Hayes of Ladera Ranch tied for the bronze medal on floor exercise (9.300) in the Level 8 younger division. Teammate Cameron Craycraft, also of Ladera Ranch, took home the gold on vault scoring a 9.450 in the middle division, while San Clemente’s Regan Johnson was awarded the silver on floor scoring a 9.350 in the older division. The Level 9 team also earned some of the top awards. Katya Kousakin of San Juan Capistrano earned the silver medal on beam in the younger division, scoring a 9.300. In the middle division, teammates Allison Karner (Laguna Niguel) and Kaitlyn Driessen (Rancho Mission Viejo) tied for the bronze on vault with a 9.150.  Ladera Ranch resident, Sarah Quan, scored a 9.175 on floor for the silver, and Dylan Tanner, resident of Dana Point, scored an 8.700 on beam for the bronze in the older division.

 

Olympica Gymnastics Academy will be hosting the next competition at the Ladera Sports Center in Ladera Ranch, February 14-16. Gymnasts from throughout the United Sates will be competing in the Pacific Classic.
