ANHS PTSA IS SEEKING EXECUTIVE BOARD AND COMMITTEE LEADERS
Dear DJAMS/AVMS 8th grade Parents,
My name is Johanne Padilla and I am the Parliamentarian for the ANHS PTSA. We here at the ANHS PTSA are so excited to meet you and your incoming freshman later this summer at registration. A great way to become involved and meet ANHS administration and staff is to be a member and volunteer with the ANHS PTSA. I would now like to ask you to consider volunteering for a very important task. I am currently seeking nominees for positions on our executive board for the 2013-2014 school year. Our school principal, Mr. Carter has said at numerous meetings that the ANHS PTSA is the most important and critical parent group on campus. Won’t you consider being a part of this executive board which has a direct impact on student life on campus?
Positions that will be open for on next year’s executive board are President, Vice President of Membership, and Parliamentarian. If you are interested in one of these positions or know someone who would make a worthy candidate for a position on the executive board, please contact Johanne Padilla at padillasmom@cox.net. If you would like more information about these positions, contact Johanne Padilla at padillasmom@cox.net.
If you don’t feel like you are ready for an executive board position, but would consider being a part of one of our committees, you can also contact Johanne Padilla. Here are some of the committees on which we can use your help in 2013-2014: Volunteer Coordinator, Hospitality, Senior Scholarship, Honorary Service Awards, Parent Education, Child Advocacy, Website, Newsletter, Reflections, Teacher Appreciation.
“Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” –Martin Luther King, Jr.
USED MUSIC INSTRUMENTS
Help me continue to help our schools by contributing to my “LET THE BEAT GO ON” project. I am collecting your old instruments and donating them to the CUSD music programs to help them meet the goal of providing free instruments for any student who wants to play a wind or string instrument. This will allow our music programs to grow and stay strong. I will pick up your old instruments from your home and donate them to the CUSD school of your choice. Please contact Julia Moss at jdmoss@cox.net.
YMCA IS LOCATED RIGHT ON CAMPUS!
TAB: The Teen Advisor Board is comprised of teens in the YMCA program who want to design a better YMCA that will continue to be the place where teens want to go. The TAB team helps plan events, daily activities, and service learning projects. The TAB team also gives input on monthly snack, supplies, games, and electronic purchases. This is a great opportunity for your student to learn and practice leadership skills.
CLUBS: Besides offering quality programming before and after school, we also offer great clubs in the afternoons to get your teens involved. The YMCA Teen Club offers these clubs two to three times a week! We plan on adding new clubs like Service Learning and Sports Clubs! Clubs for March are Nutrition Club and Game Tournament Club!
