Mayor Frank Ury takes viewers on a comical and poignant ride in his State of the City address, which aired during the City Council’s meeting on Tuesday.
With a humorous beginning and graceful ending, he highlights some of the city of Mission Viejo’s accomplishments this year including a $28 million reserve budget and AAA bond rating; reduced pension and healthcare liabilities by $3 million; partnerships with Laguna Hills and Rancho Santa Margarita for animal services beginning January 1; renovation of the decades-old Marguerite Aquatics Center; and the Advanced Purified Water Project at Lake Mission Viejo, among others.
The roughly 8-minute video, which received a rousing applause, is Ury’s final address after completing 12 years on the City Council.
