PACIFIC SYMPHONY EXPANDS SOCIAL MEDIA OUTREACH
THROUGH LAUNCH OF NEW TUMBLR PAGE AND MOBILE APP,
IN EFFORT TO BETTER CONNECT WITH COMMUNITY
Orange County, Calif.—As an orchestra for the 21st century, Pacific Symphony, on a mission to stay apace technology, is expanding its social media outreach with the launch of two new platforms: a fun-and-flashy Tumblr page and a fingertip-ready mobile app. The Tumblr page offers a mixed-media blog of photos, videos, reviews, sound clips and more for a “loosen-the-tie” approach to classical music. Filled with industry tidbits, exclusive interviews and engaging program notes, it’s a daily must-read for the most interesting stories behind the music and up-to-the-minute news on the Symphony. Find more at http://PacificSymphony.tumblr.com.
The Symphony’s new Instant Encore mobile app provides access to the Symphony anywhere, anytime. The app offers a full calendar of upcoming concert events with program descriptions, guest artist bios and the ability to purchase tickets on-the-go. Users may also read the latest news delivered from Tumblr, watch videos, browse musician bios and photos, and listen to concert preview talks with KUSC’s Alan Chapman. The app is available to download on the iPhone and Android market or can be easily accessed on a mobile internet browser at http://m.PacificSymphony.org.
