PAJAMA DAY!!
Back by popular demand is our annual “Pajama Day”! That’s right, our student council is asking you send your student to school this Friday, December 17th in their jammies and robes (it might be chilly!), but please, NO slippers. Make sure they are wearing their regular tennis shoes!
OUR VERY OWN GIRL SCOUTS ARE HERE TO HELP!
Members of Canyon Vista Girl Scout Troop 848 will be at Aliso Viejo Community Park from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on December 20th and 21st to watch your children and even wrap your gifts! They will play with the children on the grass and playground and keep all little ones well-supervised! (There will be adult supervision!) You provide a sack lunch and water bottle…even bring your gifts that need to be wrapped! Enjoy a few hours of free time during these last hectic days before the holidays! Donations will gratefully be accepted and will help them get to San Francisco so they can “bridge” to the Cadet level in May, 2011. YEARBOOK ADS!
Reminder…last day to turn in your completed yearbook ad with payment is tomorrow, Wednesday, December 15th.
WINTER RECESS:
We are on regular schedule all this week. School will be closed from Monday, December 20th through Friday, December 31st. School resumes Monday, January 3rd. Enjoy your break before the start of 2011!
“EARLY OUT” THURSDAY!
Remember EVERY Thursday is an “early out” day! Grades 1-5 are released at 12:50. Early Bird Kindergartners are out at 10:45 a.m. while Late Bird Kindergartners are released at 12:15 p.m.
“TOYS FOR TOTS” DRIVE:
We are currently hosting a “Toys for Tots” drive! Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the front office and drop it in one of our bins. Help us make a child’s holiday a little brighter! Bins will be picked up this Friday, December 17th.
OPPORTUNITIES TO GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!
This time of the year is so busy, you don’t have time to cook do you? Of course not! So Tuesday, December 14th, head over to Chipotle and Canyon Vista will get 50% of the proceeds! Don’t forget to bring your flyer! Also, Wednesday, December 15th and Thursday, December 16th, Powell’s Sweet Shoppe and Rubio’s will be donating 20% of their proceeds with your order. Rubio’s offer is good from 3 p.m. until close while Powell’s will accept your flyer all day! Make life easy on yourself and support our PTA at the same time! Check your child’s backpack for flyers for each of these events!
PARKING DURING THIS BUSY TIME!
Just a reminder that “STAFF” parking spots are just that…parking for Staff members ONLY! Please keep this in mind when visiting classrooms this week! We are experiencing several parents parking in staff spots during the busy early morning rush…please remember that teachers are arriving at the same time as students and need to be able to pull right into their parking space.
