Participants sought to join city in Relay for Life

Date:

Participants are sought to join the city in the Aug. 15-16 Aliso Viejo-based Relay for Life, an all-night vigil in the fight against cancer.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs.

During the event, teams participate at schools, fairgrounds or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Society officials say Relay offers something for everyone – from the newly diagnosed and caregivers to friends and long-term cancer survivors.

So far 22 teams – including the city’s “Sleepless in Aliso” team – have signed on to participate in the 24-hour event, which takes place at Grand Park.

Donations are also welcome. To sign up for the city’s team or make a donation, visit http://events.cancer.org/rflalisoviejoca.

For more information, contact Gracie Duran at 949-425-2519 or gduran@cityofalisoviejo.com.
