Mission Viejo, Saddleback Valley Elks. Sentimental Journey, Summertime and the Bunny Hop, the era of the Big Band was the theme for this year’s Elks Ladies July dance.

Members and friends danced to the music of the 40’s that was oh so familiar and wonderfully performed by the 18 piece “OC Swing Machine” and vocalist Sarah Baxter, under the direction of Dr. William Nicholls.

The Lodge room was beautifully decorated with all things music and lovely centerpieces of feathers designed by Laura Lumley and installed by our volunteers, Pam Mackey, Jack and Sandy Jacobs, Mary Ann and Camacho Alvarez, Barbara Martino, Patricia Ohman, Diana Wilson, Laura Lumley, Marge Kovash and Barbara King.
What would a 40’s themed dance be without a dinner reminiscent of the Delmonico? Steak Diane and Chicken Piccata along with Asparagus with Hollandase was prepared to perfection by our chiefs, Ed Mackey, Dennis Boelts and Kevin Lindley.
Our servers for the evening were Elks Ladies board members Laura Lumley, Diana Wilson, Pam Mackey, Barbara King and Vicky Long and our guests were greeted by Sandy Jacobs. The $2000 proceeds of the event benefited the many charities sponsored by the Elks Ladies.
